I cried this morning..

Why did I cry? For very silly reasons...

I came downstairs today to find a big, interesting looking package sitting on the coffee table. The Ex who was mooching about watched me open it with great interest. It was from the utterly incomparable [personal profile] lastrega and contained an utterly gorgeous print of the slash pic she uses on her website which was done by the The Theban Band. If you would like to see the picture go here Oh and then go and read her fic as she's one of the *best* authors writing in the Highlander fandom at the moment.

The package also contained a keyring bondage bear, an old issue of the Buzz (which is the magazine produced by the Highlander Down Under fanclub) and two utterly gorgeous photographs of Peter Wingfield which are just too beautiful to accurately describe.....

...so I won't!

I miss Sonia terribly as it is. You know how people talk about when they first meet someone and you just *click*? Well it really happened when I met Sonia at HLDU5. We'd been corresponding by email before then and definitely got on okay but when we met it was just like...well the planets aligned or something! Rarely have I ever just been happy to be with someone in the same way I was with Sonia.

Since then we seem to have rather scarily taken up residence in each other's brains. I'm the untalented, bad tempered and neurotic half and Sonia's the talented, funny and stable half.

When I opened the package and saw all this stuff I just started crying because I wanted to be in Brisbane so badly it *hurt*. Needless to say The Ex is now horribly, horribly jealous of Sonia which I found most amusing!

So thank you Sonia! Thank you for being a great friend, thank you for putting up with me when I was very, very drunk and ridiculous at HLDU5, thank you for making the Highlander fandom a glorious place and most of all thank you for *understanding* me. The world is definitely a little bit less lonely with you in it!

I miss you, I really wish I was in Brisbane at the moment and I am ticking off the days until HLDU6!

..and now I'm sniffling again. Fucking hell I'm such a big girl's blouse today...!
All hail the gracious [personal profile] cortese who had a rather fabulous rant about the lack of hetero-erotic naked men here which I must say I heartily agree with! Check out the replies as well for great icons and pictures.

I'm bi-sexual, as in the sense that I really don't draw that many distinctions between men and women. I'll shag anything ::grins:: I have been hugely disappointed by the range of porn that's available for women be they straight or gay or indiscriminate like me ::grins:: It was one of the reason I got into writing porn and from there ended up in wonderful world of slash fandom. There does seem to be a complete blind spot when it comes to women being allowed to openly drool over naked beautiful men..

Cortese's rant was joyfully greeted by many smut merchants and the result was some very wonderful icons on the subject. The very talented [personal profile] carenejeans made my new and shiny icon and the rest can be seen here

While I'm at it I would also rec her new story on The Garret: Twelve Kisses (A Baker's Dozen) by Carene. Its hot, light and gorgeously evocative.

Cinel Durant has been writing beauteous HL fic for a while. She's just written a sequel to The Unfamiliar Name called Fire To Fire which is just glorious. If you've never read any of her gem like stories then you are in for such a treat!
