Tron is the gayest film ever!

No bear with me on this. I acquired the new Tron DVD some time ago but finally got a chance to watch it on Saturday night with Darth Rich and The Ex. I have very fond memories of Tron as I think I was about 9 or 10 when I saw it and it was the *first* film I ever wrote fan fic for.

Or at least I suppose you'd call it fan fic now. Then it was mainly about how much I wanted a Light Cycle of my very ownsome.

Anyways, I don't think I've watched the film for at least 12 years. Wow! Talk about Slashtastic! Ram and Tron were *so* doing it and I kept expecting Flynn to kiss Ram in the death scene. Then we have Sark and The Master Control Program. How much of a fucked up dom/sub thing was going on there?

Add to this enforced slavery, gladiatorial games, loads of torture and angst. Honestly I'm starting to wonder whether some of my kinks were actually *caused* by watching this film at a young age *grins*

I badly want to write some Tron slash now. Someone hit me!

In other news, I am sorely tempted to join theatrical_muse as either Kronos or Judge Dredd.

Considering however, how little time I have already to contribute to fannish pursuits I think this may be a very bad idea. Not to mention that if I'm gonna play the comic version of Judge Dredd I will just confuse the hell out of most people.

Besides, if I play Kronos I really need someone to play Caspian and Silas to keep me company, plus I'm not sure this particular Methos would appreciate me leering at him.

Actually I'd *really* like to play Joe Pineapples from the ABC Warriors. However, a transvestite, chaos aligned, robot assassin is just going to be impossible to explain to anyone who doesn't know him.

Ah well. Kink update to follow I promise. Apologies for not posting earlier but I'm afraid I 'lost the plot' somewhat on Friday. Bad Em, no biscuit, slapped wrists all round.

I must admit it's been very amusing watching how much more tolerant and pleasant people then I, have also been gradually losing their collective cool in the on-going drama. I genuflect in wordless admiration at the feet of amand_r for her post to the ROG-L list. Kink!

I'm going to just do HL or kink related recs at the moment as I still need to sort my head out over the M & C and Pirates ones. I've been reading far too much fic of late and am now confuzled as to which fics go where...if you know what I mean?

If you don't..then just ignore me.

First up I have to annouce my undying adoration and love for Pic!Bitch extraordinaire crackernuts. I've just read her entries for the Slash Advent Calendar 2003 and I have fallen hopelessly and *utterly* in love with one particular story. Its called Imago, its in Day 11, its Kronos/Methos and its not exactly what you'd call full of Xmas cheer. It *is* however, a beautifully crafted and well realised piece of writing with a bloody gorgeous, verging-on-noncon-but-not-quite sex scene. You need the login and password to access the site and I *highly* recommend that you go read!

Please crackernuts if I promise to be an extra good Evil Dr Em can I add that fic to my Kink!Fic challenge page? As and when it happens of course and providing tritorella doesn't beat me to death with a wet haddock in the meantime. *grins*

Hats off actually to the Slash Advent Calendar in general for providing me with new fic to read daily. There are some absolute gems on that site, in particular elistaire's The Law of Plums in Day 2 which made me snarf coffee through my nose due to the phrase: "You know there are only about ten fruitcakes in the world and they just get passed around, right?". *grins*

Okay what else. I must rec the lovely and huggable Pat's Methos' Weekend which is the final part of the trilogy which started with A New Record and continued with Duncan's Weekend. Pat has a great way with witty dialogue and manages to be fluffy without sliding over the edge into teeth rotting sweetness. The story has very light BDSM in it which is handled admirably and is very well thought out. I do hope Pat returns to this theme at a later date and explores some of the ideas she's touched on.

Also up at taterville are more chapters of the work of genius that is Phoenix Fire. I've gone on at length before about this WIP and how marvelous it is. All I can say is go read it and then tell Chris how much you love her.

In a similar vein Sharon Cross has added another chapter to her HL AU Songs Of The Flesh which is a sequel to Specter. Each time I read anything new by this lady it just blows me away how much creativity she has. This new chapter doesn't disappoint although I will warn you that you will have a *bad* Obi Wan moment about three quarters of the way through!

The last of HL related recs is by the terrifyingly brilliant 3jane. If you've never read any of her fic then I can't rec her stuff highly enough. She makes me weep tears of blood.

She has also written possibly one of all time fave HL short fics. I *love* Three Days Down with the sort of jealous painful type of love that makes me want to shred anything I have ever written. Its dark, its edgy, it leaves you with a blunt ache in your chest and her Methos and Duncan are note perfect. Sadly, this is the only fic she's written in this fandom.

Make that was...

Imagine my delight therefore, when I came across Road Thing. Its Methos/Oz, and its.... *guh*. Just go and read it. Its everything I adore about her writing and then some. Squared.

I was originally introduced to 3jane's writing in the TPM and Xmen fandoms. I know comics are not a lot of people's *thing* but if you only ever look at one comic fandom related thing then it has to be her Imaging the Xmen. Just too beautiful.

If however this has wetted your appetite for Xmen fic then I am going to take this opportunity to rec my favorite Xmen kink!fics. Both these series start from the same point, a fic called Training by Eoen. What can I say, its a classic premise and beautifully executed. The pairing is Wolverine/Gambit and the gloriously spangly xtricks was then inspired to write the sequels Training Day 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and the finale Station.

The series then spun off into two separate universes, much to the delight and drooling of all who appreciate bloody fabulous kink!fic. The grovel inducing Eoen's series is called My Good Boy while the *rocking* xtricks version is called This Ain't Love.

I couldn't choose between the two for which is better. Both are extremely well written and feature some of the best realised, best thought out and best all out knicker wetting BDSM I've read in a very long while. They also both give you very different takes on BDSM relationships and as such give the reader a glimpse into the complexity and vast array of variety within such relationships. Both series are technically ongoing works, (oh joy, oh rapture, oh thanks to all the gods) so there is more wonder yet to come. Each installment is complete in itself, so I don't wish to call them WIP's and it shouldn't put you off reading them.

If you like BDSM go read these fics, if you want to learn how to write *good* BDSM, go read these fics. They are fairly *full on* so don't say you weren't warned. As always don't forget to tell any of the authors recced here, how wonderful they are.

See if you can prod xtricks into writing me some Kink!Fic for the challenge as well! *evil grin*

[Addendum] Ooooh! On checking Eoen's website which is shared with the equally talented Kethry I came across an HL fic which had slipped my mind. Its also by Eoen, its called The Cat Who Walks By Himself and it made me *Squeee*. Those who have read my HLDU5 Con Report will know *exactly* why.
