According to my Forgotten English Calendar its Byron's Birthday today!

It then goes on to tell me:

"Among the superstitions in which Byron chose to indulge, the supposed unluckiness of Friday, as a day for the commencement of any work, was one by which he almost always, allowed himself to be influenced. Soon after his arrival at Pisa, a lady of his acquaintance happening to meet him on the road from her house as she was returning thither, and supposing that he had attempted to make a visit, requested that he would go back with her. "I have not been to your house," he answered, "for just before I got to the door, I remembered that it was Friday, and not liking to make my first visit on Friday, I turned back. "It is even related of him that he once sent away a Genoese tailor who had brought him home a new coat on the same ominous day. - Thomas Moore's Letters and Journals of Lord Byron, 1830

Oddly the word today is eargh which means: "Superstitiously afraid. This is the word of which eerie is a later form. The Anglo-Saxon form is earh - Walter Skeat's A Student's Pastime, 189

Hmmm. Plot bunnies, plot bunnies. *evil grin*

In other news, Rob Zombie is bad for your job prospects..

No really! This morning I was listening to the Best Of CD on the way to work and just as I pulled into the work car park 'Dragula' came on. I love this song, so I sat and head banged (complete with satan's horns hand gestures) in the car until it finished. When I looked up, I realised one of my senior partners was standing watching me quizzically through the windscreen...

*facepalms*

Definitely a good time for use of the word "Eargh"..
The totally terrific and tintinnabulous [profile] tritorella is in the process of putting the Kink!Fic Challenge webpage together for me. Truly I am not worthy of such patient and lovely friends.

If you can let me have your kink!fic entries in either a txt or word document format as soon as possible, that would be great. Please also include your email address and any notes you want at the top of the fic.

Oh and since this seems to be coming up a lot, I feel I should go over my definition of kink again.

Basically I regard kink as whatever it is that turns you (or alternatively your reader) on. For instance I love BDSM so my kink is BDSM, both in what I write and what I like to read. I have many other kinks as well e.g crossovers involving Methos, Wet!Methos, Goth!Kronos, Fist fights, leather, necks, amnesia, non con, and the list goes on. Therefore anything can be kink and writers should just use their imagination and write what they would like to read.

This whole idea started out as a big fuck you to those who consider kink!fic to just be about BDSM. It now kinda turned into an excuse for me to get people to write smut.

Anyways, I'm hugely excited about the entries I have and the ones I've been promised. My gorgeous and lovely [personal profile] lastrega's entry is making me do virtual back flips...

..now she just has to get on and finish it! *evil grin* Plus I have a porntastic story from the joint pens of the stunning Sharon Cross and tantalising Tessa Rae

Okay enough pimping. I'm hoping the webpage will be up and running sometime next week. Either way entries will still be welcomed until, well until I get bored or [profile] tritorella loses patience..

*grins*

Finally, I defy anyone not to end up singing this. Blame [personal profile] lastrega
I've just been having a three way email conversation with Ben and Chris about the new Highlander mini series that's being proposed. During this conversation the following arose

Ben: Chris - what's 'the ROG'?

Chris: Sorry - Methos has referred to himself as 'just a guy' in the series, so some bright spark in fandom came up with the Really Old Guy - aka the ROG. He's also referred to as the JAG - Just a Guy.

Ben: Ah. Not the BUG? (Bloody Untrustworthy Guy)

Chris: Oh, Yes!!! That, too! From henceforth he shall be known as....The BUG!! I like it! Now tell Em - I dare you

Ben: Em - see email traffic below. New fandom terminology?

Me:This is completely *awesome* Infact its getting LJ'd ....much better acronym then ROG or JAG

Chris: There's always BAG - Bloody Annoying Guy.
Or BIG - Bloody Irritating Guy.

I think this one may run and run...
