Well I can watch dvd's but only by renting a dvd player and hooking that to the tv in the kitchen (A kitchen I share with 11 other people and they tend to wander in and cook stuff! (which makes noise etc.)) so dvd enjoyment goes way down.
I mean it's their kitchen too so I can't really shut the lights and lock the door.
It was so scary though to see smoke coming out of my 1800£ laptop. Fortunately the insurance company will cover the damage. Yay! I was afraid that they'd have some fine print that would let them wiggle out of this.
They tried once, saying that their laptop insurances only work within Iceland but I insisted they check mine. I was aware of that clause when I bought the insurance so I made a deal with them to have them cover it abroad too and instead I payed a slighly higher fee.
So yeah, I will have my laptop active again and hopefully not all my data (vids in process, screencaps, a fic in process and more) hasn't all gone poof!
