..If they postpone the CSI finale again tonight, I shall not be responsible for what I do to Channel 5.
Just so you know.
I had a marvelous time last Saturday with
jhava,
darkwitchmoon, Jo and Imran and both parental units at Guys and Dolls in London. Both parental units were suitably well behaved and non odd. Which was of the good. Da persisted in referring to
jhava as "your American friend" despite my constant reminders, that actually she was Canadian, *rolls eyes* but that was to be expected. I managed to deflect his attempts to explain the architecture of the theatre in more detail however, by simply making sure that
jhava and
darkwitchmoon were seated as far away from him as possible.
The show was amazing. Possibly one the best things I've see in the West End for a while. The choreography was exceptional, better even the original 1950's films version, particularly during Luck Be A Lady Tonight and Sit Down Your Rocking The Boat. Ewan was fabulous as Sky Masterson, his voice is much stronger and truer then when he was in Moulin Rouge and his dancing was very good as well. I loved his gangster suits, very cool and very sexy.
The whole male chorus was formidably good actually, both in the singing and dancing. The female chorus was good, but a little bit ragged in places. Jane Krakowski, however, gave a stand out performance as Miss Adelaide. She really has a cracking voice and great comic timing. There was also this breathtakingly gorgeous girl in a red dress who danced with Ewan during the Cuban dance scene. She was like some graceful, sexy, bendy toy and I wanted her badly..
*sighs*
The parental units had a wonderful time and were charmed by my friends. Said friends seemed to have a great time and I loved it and squeeed like a big squeeing thing. The whole audience stood up and applauded and cheered at the end of the performance, a thing I have only seen once before in the West End, where everyone is usually terribly restrained!
Now I want to write Sky/Ezra/Methos. Because I am sad and wrong.
