Nextly GIP and thanks to the beauteousbigtitch for the new icon. The Dr Who Xmas special was utterly spectacular and no doubt you heard our joint squeeeing on the other side of the planet. Hands up who wanted the Dr to shout "There can be only one!" when he was sword fighting...
And now for some recs:
By Fire And Moonlight bycycnus39. Chris/Ezra delightfulness. There is just not enough good Chris/Ezra fic out there and this is as beautifully written, wryly observed and dryly witty as you could wish for. I love the way this writer not only writes both Chris and Ezra with such a delicate snarky touch but also keeps all the other 7 so completely in character. This is the Magnificent Seven in all their eccentric glory. Difficult to pick a favourite line but I think it has to be "Even Chris, who was sitting silently in the shadows doing his all in black, don't-talk-to-me-because-you-can't-even-see-me impersonation of the invisible gunslinger, was giving him a decidedly odd scowl."
I would highly recommend the authors other Chris/Ezra stories, in particular Cock & Bull Story" and the follow up Truth In The Tale which are modern day versions of the 7 as ATF agents. I can *see* and *hear* Ezra sitting on the bed flipping through that magazine! For the Old West versions I insist you read The Natural Disasters Story Arc which starts with Between a Wink and an Earthquake. Chris in all his bloody minded glory and Ezra trying to accommodate him.

I strongly suggest you go friend the LJ and drop the author a line so you can read this stunning Duncan/Methos story which is being posted. This author is another one of the unique and iridescent gems that the Highlander fandom is blessed with and all her writing should be treasured.
The Meaning Of Things As They Appear To Others also by the dazzlingtryfanstone. This is technically RPS about two members of the band Alabama 3. The author and I are both big fans. The story is too perfect for words and I can't stop squeeing over it. Go and download their music and in particular the song this story is based on. You will thank me for it!
Mourningwood bybeccaabbott. This is more by way of a public service announcement. The long awaited sequel to the authors previous, glorious Queen of Swords slash fics is now being posted in her LJ. Go friend her LJ! I am beyond excited about this one..
Christmas Cheer bycarenejeans because...Oh just go and read it. I damn near broke something laughing! This is Duncan/Methos on LSD. My worst nightmare made hilarious.
And finally I have been meaning to rec some original homoerotic fiction for some time. The author on LJ islogophilos and the story is Remastering Jerna. This is a BDSM story story so heed the warnings and yet, it is also so much more then that. Of late, I've been having numerous conversations with people on the differences between BDSM and Non-Con, on why BDSM is different to abuse and generally battling with the usual cranks who view the whole issue as TEH EVOL!!111!.
This story gives some of the best explanations of what BDSM and, in particular, the D/s dynamic actually is. You get to work through the emotional processes involved as well as the perspectives of both the submissive and the dominant. Do you know how rare it is to read something intelligent from the Dom perspective? It also gives some of the clearest examples of what is Non-Con, what is abuse and what is BDSM and why they are different. Infact I've been pointing people in the direction of this story for sometime as an example of how to write this kind of thing and also how to show the differences.
On top of that, it's a well written, incredibly sexy and involving story based in a well rounded and carefully thought out universe with believable and achingly real characters. Do yourself a favour, go read this story and the sequels. If you are remotely interested in the same type of experiences as me, then this story will provoke, stimulate, delight and make you think. Even if you are not interested in the same things as me, take the time to read this story and open your eyes as to why I get so pissed off every time I read a comment about how submissives are weak.

Have I ever told you that psychologists have actually studied subspace with elctrodes attached to the brain and all? Do you know what they discovered? They found out that subspace activates the same alpha waves as are activated in meditation and has the same healing effects on brain and body. So kerphewy on anyone putting down subspace. It's utterly like heaven.
Not that I mind dom-space though it is much more work, but, sigh, some of us have to do it, since subspace is much more heavenly and someone has to provide and gods know there are more subs than competent doms.
