El Presidente of the PWFC posted this message to the official list:
"Many of you have been asking and I just got word from Kelly regarding
Peter's status with Holby City. This is the official statement:
"We can now confirm that Peter has completed all his filming
obligations with the BBC for Holby City, and is back at home in Los
Angeles. The year has been the most extraordinary period work-wise -
exciting, challenging and lots of fun. Personally, it's been very
hard being so far away from family for such a long period. It's full
steam ahead, therefore, in the search for the next role."
So, no more Dan. I must admit I was expecting this to happen as it must be hell to be separated from his family for such lengths of time. I shall, however, miss having Peter on my screen every week doing something new.
I just hope that he gets some new roles back in the US which actually challenge him and are worth watching. There has been a lot of sniping about the hair and the lighting and the clothes and the quality of Holby but I'd rather watch him in that then sit through more colour-by-numbers guest appearances as a bad guy (*cough* Charmed *cough*) or another made-for-Christians tv film.
So, those of you who are going to Philly, be sure to find out and report back on what he has next planned in the pipeline. Perhaps if we all close our eyes and keep thinking *24* it will happen.
*grins*
Oh and while I'm here, let's play 'What TV Series Would You Like To See Peter In?' (WTSWYLTSPI)
My choices:
1. re-occurring role in 24
2. re-occurring role in Torchwood or Dr Who - sacrifice a goat anyone?
3. Battlestar Galactica - preferably as a Cylon
4. Boston Legal - guest lawyer to flirt/spar with Alan
5. Law & Order SVU - *whistles innocently*
6. anything Sorkin related - Peter and Bradley *hed explode*
7. re-occurring role in 'The State Within'
8. serial killer in 'Dexter'
9. re-occurring role in CSI - as another specialist that Grissom consults
10. anything in Stargate Atlantis - preferably with lots of screen time with Ronon. Infact, he can be Ronon's long lost lover and then he and Sheppard can fight it out for Ronon's affections while McKay looks on and wrings his hands. Look a girl can dream okay!
Answers on a postcard or in the comments or scrawled in blood on a cuddly toy..

It would be kind of beyond awesome
Can I just add that you living on the other side of the world is getting very old, very fast. How can we rectify this situation? *pouts*

Well, I'd have to say 24, Dr. Who/Torchwood, A Cylon on BG would be very cool. SVU would rock if he could be a non criminal of the week. Ditto with CSI. And ten, is just made of the awesome! ;)

Actually, as long as he was enjoying himself, I wouldn't care what he was doing. Although, I don't really want to see him being typecast as a recurring bad guy. *shrugs* Just me.

Okay, this? Makes me seriously squee at the implications... I would love to see Peter sparring with Ms. Mary on that show... *hee*

Anyway, I have to admit I bailed on Holby after ten episodes or so. Maybe I'll catch up eventually, but that show was really not my cup of tea. So I, for one, I'm glad he decided to pursue other projects.

I'll have my laptop with me in Philly. If it leaves Peter's mouth - it will be reported promptly.

As for my fantasy answer, I would love him to be on House, or the new Grey's spinoff, Private Practice. Peter and Kate Walsh together on the same screen would make my little fangirl heart explode with squee!

Joe Mallozzi one of the producers and writers of Stargate and Atlantis has a bloq where he answers questions and I think I think I may ask him the chances of writing a role in for PW? It can't hurt - the worst he could do is ignore me, lol! I'll go do it now.

Also #3, though I do not presently watch BG--if Peter and Callum Keith Rennie were on the screen at the same time...well, see above.
I'd really like to see him as a bad guy. Not a cartoon bad guy, but a nice, juicy, well-written bastard
Either that or comedy. *g*
