First of all GIP with thanks to the tantalizing telesilla for an icon that says it all..

fanfic_hate is akin to having a nasty rash. The more you scratch the worse it gets.

It was obvious that such a community was going to attract the absolute bottom feeders of the fandom community. Never before in the history of fandom have I seen such a group of people gathered together in one place who are all so desperately in need of a damn good shag! Maybe we could start up a dating service for them or something?

Oh and it's my great pleasure to welcome ptalleyrn to the swelling ranks of those who have whipped the We-hate-Tritorella brigade into foaming apoplexy. Someone make the girl a 'I'm a Nazi Enabler' icon!

As far as the anonymous commenting issue goes, I know that the so-called reasoning behind this is that it protects people from being attacked by ravening hordes of BNF minions if they express a dislike for a popular fic.

Can I just say what a load of cunting bollocks this is! If your going to dish out criticism to people then at least have the backbone to accept that this means you may be criticised back. The sooner some of these people get to grips with the idea of action = consequences the better.

Personally, I think all the authors who have had their work attacked in fanfic_hate should regard it as a back handed compliment. I think I'd be proud to know that the type of people who participate in something like fanfic_hate didn't like my writing.

For the Fact Fans out there, I would add that there is also a connection between the majority of the authors who are getting attacked in the Highlander thread. I'm sure the more intelligent among you can work out what it is.

*grins*

And that's my last word on the subject. Now I'm off to put together some Highlander recs as an antidote to all the poisionous negativity.

Look new Kink!Fic!

The first written by the mulberry flavoured Margaret for my birthday. So it's a bit belated but oh so worth the wait! Now if only someone would make a film based on this idea starring Johnny Depp and Peter Wingfield *spangles*

This story was written for me and elistaire and its quite simply the hottest and wettest bit of plot driven gorgeousness that I have read for a long time. It's not A Highlander fic. It features Max (played by Peter Wingfield) from the film 'Uncovered' and Aaron (played by Adrian Paul) from the film 'The Breed'.

Amazingly Chris manages to capture the essence and character of each of these two men perfectly and they fit so well together in this fic you'd think they were always meant to be together!

My involvement in this piece of genius is limited to my rambling inanely at Chris all the way up to and back from ManCon about various aspects of D/s relationships and how they worked. Chris listened patiently, filtered out all my crap and then managed to produce this stupendous bit of writing which has made me *wail* for a Max of my very ownsome.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these two new contributions and don't forget to feedback the authors.

Highlander flavoured recs

So my first fandom has been remarkably active over the last few months while I have been experiencing some of the darker areas of Real Life. This gives me the happy!

I therefore have a positive fistful of recs so am going to keep the comments to a bare minimum in the interests of time and so I don't incite anyone reading this to violence

So on with the drive-by pimping:

RealityCheck by the demonic Dar. This is a very odd little story which it took me a couple of readings to decide whether I liked or not. Anyway, read and it see what you make of it. I like stuff which makes me prickle a bit and this one certainly did that!

Goodnight Kiss by the delicately delicious ddayspring which follows on from It's a date and Worst Date Ever. The author's sparky dialogue always gets me every time and the genuine love of the characters shines through all the banter. Yum. Now if we can all persuade her to finish Into Darkness Peering I shall be a happy Evil Dr Em

The Five Ways Methos Died by the lemon tasting lannamichaels Just Guh! *spangles*

Coincident and Communion by the cherry glazed Cinel Durant who continues to woo me with her beautiful creations. Coincident is sharp edged brittle and loving piece, while Communion is blood tinged, achy and Methos to a perfection.

Triggers by the ever edible elistaire is forensically exacting in it's description of the perils of Immortal memory. I loved it.

As All Light Fades by Jeanine is a heart breaking bit of Methos angst and torture. Her descriptive evoking of the raw pain of loss has to be read to be believed.

The kaluha soaked kaiz is a fic tease extraordinaire. She gifts us with several luscious snippets, all of which make me sob for MORE

June Advances and Summer Heat by the toffee sprinkled Tessa Rae. These two delights are the last two episodes of her Casual Acquaintance series which I have enjoyed the hell out of. Erotic, funny and more realistic then most. Tessa is always a joy to read and rec.

What Is by the strawberry smothered sapphiresmuse which made me cry. Alot. I think I may just about have forgiven the author..

War Dance which is the much awaited Chapter 6 of the sherry brushed Sharon Cross's WIP Songs of The Flesh. I really do want to have hot monkey sex with Jolene! Do you think if I'm good Sharon will let me?

That's all the for the moment and I would also like to point you in the direction of the excellent hl_springfever challenge which has some fantastic stories listed as well as the fact that the Highlander Lyric Wheel has spun again and there are some fabulous stories there as well. I shall rec my particular faves in another post.
