Painslut!Methos

The ever glorious Pat has just posted this to my list. Apparently its on the Season 5 DVD as an extra!

"Cut dialogue from scene at power station:

Kronos: " I think you could use a bit of pain, brother."

[Kronos puts his hand into the wound in Methos' chest where he had just pulled the knife out. Methos gags and cries out in pain]

Kronos: "Come on. There was a time you'd bounce right up asking for more. What's happened? You got soft?"

I am Em's sense of deeply smug satisfaction....

Out of character, my *arse*, and a giant fuck you to J-Blo and everyone who filled my inbox with narrow minded wank.

OMGSOHAPPY!

I could be all logical and say how it's not canon when they just wrote it, but didn't film/air it.

Instead, ahem, pardon me, but: *NO*, dammit!!! God dammit, that's just evil, throwing us things like that and then leaving us hanging. I could have had almost-blatant Methos/Kronos! You hear me? I was *this* close! *weeps bitterly* So. Close. It's just not gentlemanly to treat a girl's hormones like that.

Wahh! *sob*

After a - hmmm let's say *discussion* with Donna Lettow about this missing scene on alt.tv.highlander, I got a copy of the original script...

INT. KRONO' HIDEOUT - POWER STATION - DAY

An abandoned electrical station, a tunnel with unusual, dramatic atmosphere.

Methog lies on a slab, life just returning to him. He coughs and opens his
eyes, disoriented for a moment. Then he sees, standing over him --

Kronos, watching him, his sword held loosely.

KRONOS
It's been a long time. How you feeling?

Methos wheezes, takes a breath, clutching his chest.

METHOS
Like I left my heart in San Francisco.

KRONOS
I always thought you had no heart.
(re the wound)
Does it hurt?

METHOS
What do you think?

KRONOS
Since you asked?

Kronos plants his BOOT on Methos' wounded chest and pushes hard.

KRONOS
I think you could use a little pain, brother. I think it's just what you
need.

He pushes hard to make his point, then lifts his foot. Methos sits up,
gasping.

KRONOS
There was a time you'd bounce right up, asking for more. You're getting
soft.

Methos pushes gingerly to his feet.

METHOS
Not soft, Kronos. I just passed through my angry adolescence a little
earlier than you.

So it was originally planned to be even stronger than was filmed.

*sigh*

Oh how I wish they'd left it in that way. *sigh*

But, so, since it was written.....can't it be sorta considered canon? *g*

(Anonymous) 2004-01-16 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
But not only written, but filmed as well. Even though on film, Kronos was bent over Methos and it was his arm/hand pressing down on the wound. Gillian and Donna said in the commentary that he was squeezing Methos' heart inside the chest wound. They cut it cos 1) they were too long with the final cut and had to cut *something* and b) they were getting nasty letters from their European partners about pointless violence so they cut where they could. Shame really. And, I do think Kronos said "it's what you need. " like the script, but Donna and Gillian were talking over the dialogue and it was hard to hear exactly what that line was.

So, if it was filmed, but just (misplaced) on the edit, isn't it canon?

Pat
p.s. ANother cut scene. When Cassandra asked Methos where her people were and he pointed to the skulls, he told her that Caspian insisted on keeping the heads because he thought it would make him smarter, then Methos grinned and stated that it hadn't worked yet. Too funny. Gillian and Donna said they loved the inference that Caspian was eating their brains. But, once again were told it was pointless violence so they cut it. But it *was* filmed.

[identity profile] moljn.livejournal.com 2004-01-16 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, it was filmed? And is on the DVDs? I get to see it? I get to watch this? Really? No, really? I ... really?

[identity profile] darthhellokitty.livejournal.com 2004-01-16 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I don't think that's *pointless* violence; it certainly has a point for me: that Kronos is one nasty bastard, and Methos has most certainly been his bitch.

It's fucked up for me to get aroused by that scene, right?

Was this the 'pink fog' discussion? She's such a *ahem* nice person.

[identity profile] bigtitch.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
No, the pink fog discussion was later on about how wicked and thoroughly evil Methos was (or wasn't) about leaving Charlotte in a hurry in Indiscretions. But somehow I think this little conversation primed things for that one!

She's such a *ahem* nice person.
Oh you're so right. And she's humble, polite, kind, careful about how she posts, never pedantic, never gives the impression she has a chip on her shoulder, completely slash-friendly, never confessed that she used to write Bandfic. (Alledgedly)

[identity profile] anuanu.livejournal.com 2004-01-16 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, have you ever read anything by Tritorella? Thar's some good BDSM and pain/torture!fics, thar. :)

(Anonymous) 2004-01-16 09:30 am (UTC)(link)

I *love* Tritorella's Eric stories. She is the best as far as I'm concerned. Not that I'm an expert on BSDM, but I know what I like and what works for me. Too bad she quit the fandom. Loss for Highlander fans.

The Kink is canon *g*

[identity profile] lordriffington.livejournal.com 2004-01-16 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
Hehehe.
I remember Maureen Russell showing us that at HLDU (3, I think. Although I believe she brought the dailies back for 4, 'cause for some reason, she knew people would want to see them again.)
:)

Best. Kronos line. Evar.

Holy fuck, how much do I love the Methos/Kronos! Wait til you see these scenes, Em. You'll die. The slash fairly oozes off the screen, forms a wet puddle on the floor and swallows up anything that touches it.

[identity profile] bigtitch.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
That and PW does a very good impression of a dying cockroach!

[identity profile] lastrega.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
He does indeed. But he's our cockroach and we love him dearly.
