So named by the mighty Chris!
On Saturday I was descended upon by some members of the The Outer Limits Y!Group. Originally the idea was that the beautiful![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
bigtitch and the delightful crowie were also to be joining me and Chris but sadly in the end they both had to cry off and were both sadly missed!
Chris and I (veterans of the trip to The Royal Armouries) were however joined by by Katja, a gorgeous Canadian who for reasons best known only to herself, decided to leave Canada and move over here to Wales, (Exeter to be precise) to work!!
Katja drove down from Exeter and only managed to get lost about 10 minutes from my house, which I think deserves a round of applause. Chris I picked up from the train station at around noon, weighed down with beer in her backpack.
I'm afraid I was late to pick her up and arrived with a car full of The Ex and Darth Rich. This was mainly because I had a bit of a crisis that morning while trying to work out how to copy the Uncovered DVD. It turns out gentle readers, that there is this big and powerful demon called Macrovision. He has placed an evil curse on all DVD's to make them difficult to copy to video. I know nothing of such things so was at a loss.
Thankfully, Darth Rich is much skilled in the dark magicks of technology and he answered my plaintive call at 9am in the morning, by arriving at my house with lots of wires, an X-Box and some mighty tech voodoo. I think there may have been a magick artifact called a dongle involved as well. Either way, the outcome was that the demon Macrovision was banished and the DVD copying was completed!
Once Chris and I and Katja were safely installed in my house and I had banished The Ex and The Lodger for the entire day and the night on pain of pain, things progressed nicely.
I had explained previously that I don't cook. I mean I *really* don't cook, the Ex does all the cooking and if he's not around I eat take away or sandwiches. In a gesture of uncommon goodwill however The Ex had been to the supermarket that morning and purchased snacks for me to offer my guests! This coupled with some stunning honey beer brought by Chris soon has us all relaxed and we commenced the 'Wingfield Wallow'.
Chris was very anxious to see Uncovered again as she was in the middle of a story involving Max *squee* and it turned out Katja had never seen it. So we first of all watched Uncovered.
Max is such a slut and so utterly gorgeous! It was most entertaining watching Katja's expression during Max's opening scene. Infact we were forced to watch that scene a few times just so she could really *grasp* the finer points..
I swear she was making whimpering noises during the kissing scene as well...or maybe that was me...? Hmmm.
..Anyway, by the end Chris and I had pretty much mapped out who and what Max was and the fact he'd sleep with anything. I think Katja agreed, although she was kinda flushed and glazed so I'm not sure. I read the beginning of Chris's Max story and nearly choked. Its very, very, very....well, Very. *gurgles*
Finish it *soon* Chris. There needs to be *more* Max fic written.
After Uncovered, it was decided we would watch some Queen Of Sword episodes, as neither Chris nor Katja had seen any of these. First we watched Death To The Queen, then my favourite, Vengeance and then The Dragon. I should add that I'm afraid I have seen these episodes so many times now that I have an entirely alternative storyline worked out for them all. Of course I inflicted this on the pair of them during all three episodes. Along with much
"The Gods they mock Montoya" and "She has a good heart, I shall keep it in a jar on my desk" Which of course must be accompanied by the *Mwahahahaha* laugh.
One day when I'm rich and famous I'm going to dub all the QOS episodes with my story version..
..It will be very exciting, honest! *grins*
Miraculously neither Chris nor Katja had killed me by this point. So then, at Katja's request, we watched the first Stargate episode Peter appears in. Mmmmmm Tanith! Blood stained Tanith...
Then we ordered a chinese take-away and I went and picked Ben up.
Both Chris and Katja had expressed an interest in meeting Ben (Vice President of S.Q.U.E.E and founder of Operation W.I.B.B.L.E) and he was really looking forward to geeking at other fans about Highlander.
Katja accompanied me to pick him up and was introduced to his utterly gorgeous partner Ms Spooky. We also bought more beer and wine and returned to my house with fresh supplies and the Ben in tow.
Back at the house, we all settled in for the night with Highlander episodes. First we watched Judgement Day and One Minute To Midnight as Ben hadn't seen these for ages. Then we got very meta about them. Then we drank some more alcohol and watched Timeless. I went *squee* a fair bit. Yet more alcohol was consumed. Ben made some fantastic observations about the juxtaposition between Walter and Duncan focusing on Claudia and how they both consider her special because she is immortal and talented, while Methos focuses on Alexa who is dying and he considers her special just for being herself. We all nodded sagely. All hail the Ben!
Fortfied by wine, Katja next agreed to show us her songvid. Oh wow! I can tell you its heart rending and utterly brilliant. Katja has no webspace so if anyone would be willing to host it for her, they would be doing the fandom a service and also getting a big treat. Its *really* worth watching!
Ben had never seen any songvids and was hugely impressed by Katja's contribution. He, like me, mourns his complete inability to do anything remotely technical. I am *such* a frustrated wannabe songvidder and you never know, one day I may actually learn how.
Pigs may also soon be soaring round the eaves of my office building.
Anyway, because Katja had the completely amazingdkwilliams's Immortality songvid downloaded, we watched that. This is the songvid which made me sniffle at HLDU5 and you could have heard a pin drop while it was playing. Ben was almost struck speechless with awe. As he put it "That was fantastic and the last few scenes in particular were a work of art". *grins*
More alcohol was then consumed and there was yet more meta discussion on a number of subjects. Its all gets a bit hazy, but I do remember discussing whether immortals can *feel* Holy Ground. I think Ben successfully has proved that this is canon as well. We also discussed some of the ideas that Chris had raised in Phoenix Fire, in particular the use of quickenings, the sensing of the death of other immortals, whether immortals have other abilities and much, much more. Ben proceeded to then scare everyone with his encyclopedic knowledge of all the actors who have appeared in Highlander *ever* and we had an enjoyable game of 'Six Degrees Of...'
Then we decided to watch The Modern Prometheus, mainly because I was having another one of my, I-still-don't-think-Duncan-should-have-killed-Byron moments. [cue the entire HL fandom rolling its eyes]
This episode necessitated a lot of shameless squeeing from me as well much commentary about the goat. And goths. And tucking jumpers into trousers.
Ben did in fact come up with a pretty impressive reason for the presence of the goat which Chris was happy to go along with. Personally I think he was reaching a bit when he started going on about "symbolic representation of horniness and the devil", but it was about one in the morning by this point and there had been a lot of alcoholic substances consumed..*grins*
After this episode, it became apparent that Katja was about to pass out. So Ben went home in a taxi and after much fumbling and fussing with duvets and cushions and sleeping bags I and Chris and Katja went to bed. Chris and Katja slept in my living room and its worth noting that just before I went to bed, Chris presented me with a half written birthday story she was writing for someone who shall remain nameless. *grins*
It turned out to be a threesome and she wanted to know if the sexual position was possible. She said and I quote, "That if anyone would know you will"
Its good to know that my friends have such a high opinion of me!

The next morning I was my usual monosyllabic self until I had lots of coffee. Katja and Chris were disgustingly awake and shiny. We ended up watching the second of the episodes of Stargate with Tanith in. Cue much more Tanith squeeing. Then sadly Katja had to leave to drive back home.
Chris stayed for a bit longer and we ended up having a most intriguing conversation about limb amputation in immortals. The whole feet idea she had will possibly go with me to the grave and Chris, I will have you know that I have been dreaming about *that* for the last few nights!
Then I dropped Chris down the station and it was all over. *sniff*
Thank you Chris and Katja for a wonderful weekend full of great company, entertaining conversation and much laughter. Thank you Ben for being The World Expert On Highlander and for your wit and delightful presence.
We never did get to watch X2 either. Oh well.
Infact in a rare moment of hubris I am going to state openly that my list *ROCKS* and I'm hugely delighted with all the spangly people who are on it. Now I just have to think up another excuse for a gathering...
Oh and for those who were wondering, the sexual position in Chris' story was perfectly feasible...

How big is it? I have webspace and 5GB bandwidth a month, so I could host it. Unless it exceeds 20MB. But I have no idea how I could receive it, other way than by having it burnt on a CD and snail mailed to me.
Btw, you mentioned something about copying Uncovered for the poor folks who don't have it. I would be insanely grateful if there was a possibility of making one, little copy for poor little me. *bats eyelashes*
