I hate this time of year

I really do. I fucking hate all the seasonal good cheer hypocrisy, stupid decorations and false bonhomie. It's one of the reasons I always try and be away over the Xmas period.

The black dog really sinks his teeth in at this time of year. Part and parcel of this is that I am feeling burned out with fandom. This is not to say I am not still filled with *squeee* for my fandoms. On the contrary I've just been eaten whole by CSI fandom so am very happily immersing myself in that reality. I guess I'm just utterly fed up with the pathetic behaviour of certain elements of fandom. So I'm taking time out. Otherwise I shall end up hating everyone and everything fandom related and then do something I regret.

Obviously, I shall still be interacting with certain people. You should know who you are! I just want to withdraw from the general stage, as it were, before I end up losing what's left of my equanimity and telling an awful lot of people to suck my clit.

Roll on the solstice! I could do with a little more light in my life.

I'm just now getting into the Christmas spirit this year and a huge credit for that goes to beeej and her generosity this past weekend.

Hope you get past this with minimum of bad feelings. Would dearly miss you if you left the fandom.
