Greetings all, work is, just for a change (note sarcasm) hectic. Now I have a wonderful shiny new secretary however I am much happier. I also got a pay rise and a bonus so am feeling vaguely mollified about the whole situation at the moment.

We shall see how long that lasts...

I also must add that I am having a lot of trouble with my hands at the moment. It would seem that the arthritis I keep being threatened with due the fact I am double jointed (a lot less exciting then it sounds) may have arrived. Typing is therefore a bit of a trial so you'll have to excuse me if I owe you email and the like.

For those of you who are remotely interested in the sordid goings on of my existence click on the cut tag. Everyone else, go read porn on the Kink!Fic webpage and talk amongst yourselves.

Last night, C Elsewhere dragged us all off to watch wrestling as part of his birthday celebration. I fear I shall never be the same again. If you want slightly more coherent descriptions of the night then I suggest you check out [personal profile] nmg's account of the evening in his LJ here and [personal profile] gnommi's take on things here

As well as the afore mentioned peeps, The Ex, Darth Steve, Caroline, Alexis, Hobbitboy and [profile] desincarne attended. Good grief but wrestling is homo erotic! Yes, I know, before you all start going 'Doh' at me. I had realised, only its one thing to watch it on TV and it's another thing to watch it live. Needless to say I was in total hysterics and C Elsewhere spent most of the evening cautioning me against the evil of wrestling slash..

[profile] desincarne, who is a *huge* wrestling fan, went berserk and provided even more entertainment by shouting abuse at the wrestlers until he was hoarse. I was particularly taken with his cries of 'Shatner' at the Canadian wrestler because he was called TJ...um somethingorother.

They are back in Southampton at the end of March and we *have* to go again.

Anyway..

This weekend I am off to ManCon at the bountiful [personal profile] bigtitch's place of residence. I am taking Chris P and [personal profile] jhava with me and meeting up with [personal profile] crowie, [personal profile] jedinic, Carolin and Margaret. Undoubtedly there will be much squeeage and much drinking. I promise to try and keep the singing to a minimum!

I took Chris P to see The Phantom of the Opera a couple of weekends ago. It was her birthday and we talked through the follow up to Fool's Gold. I've read through what she has written so far and believe me people you are in for a treat! Phantom not a goood film though. Hugely funny for all the wrong reasons however. Chris and I were MSTing the film to death and then we got told to shut up, by a middle aged couple sitting next to us, who then proceeded to cry at the end. Bizarre! The film kinda reminded me of the stype of fanfic overwrought 16 year old goths write.

What else..

Oh yes. I have finally booked my flight for HLWW6. I arrive in Sydney at 6.10am on Monday 25th April and I leave on Monday 2nd May at 1.45pm. Yay for jetlag and Red Bull I say!

Absolutely cannot wait for this. As some of you know following some *interesting* discussions with The Ex, he will no longer be coming with me to Australia. I am therefore sharing a room with [personal profile] eternaldark, [personal profile] jhava, [personal profile] lastrega, [personal profile] pat_t and [personal profile] bigtitch. I anticipate obtaining very little sleep and acute alcohol poisoning. [personal profile] beeej and [profile] pattyfeidt will also be in attendance and it will *rock* with the mightiest of fists of steel!

Now, we just need to kidnap [personal profile] elistaire and [personal profile] amand_r and bring them along and then the whole gang will be there. Does Sydney know what it is letting itself in for?

Oh and just so you all know, I intend to spend at least half of the Con embedded in [personal profile] lastrega's cleavage. You have been warned!

I've also booked for the PWFC Vancouver Friendship Con in September. Fingers crossed work allows me to get the time off.

Well I think that' enough waffling for now. Toodles to all. Dvds and videos will be posted next week, I *promise*.

So looking forward to seeing ya again in Sydney :) *gggg* not long now. Yeah!

And do me a favor, hon - when you meet up with the gals for ManCon this weekend, please give Chris a huge hug from me. Ok? I'm so happy to hear she is doing the follow-up to Fool's Gold, plus the fact I think she is so spiffy!

And hugs to you for your poor fingers.
Luv ya :)

Actually, sweetheart (and I know I emailed you about this) [livejournal.com profile] eternaldark may not be making it, so [livejournal.com profile] pattyfeidt is taking her place. Which leaves you, me and Anth in one room and the Pats, and Katja in the other. If Talisa ends up able to make it, I said we'd squish her in somewhere and not bother the hotel about it ;)

Oh I will make it alright. I have my flight booked. *gets the look of unyielding determination* I will make it.

Went back to working for Stellar in the Valley. The firm decided to not take me on due to the fact that I wanted to go back to school next year.

Yay us. [livejournal.com profile] jhava will be arriving Sunday night around 7:30 pm and We ( pat, Patty and Becky ) will be arriving on the same flight around 8:30 Sunday night. Which means you have a welcoming committee already in place.

Looking forward to much fun when you come out of [livejournal.com profile] lastrega's cleavage to join us *eg*

Wish I could be there for the amazing fun, too. *pouts* Ah, well. I will read all con reports with fevered glee.

Glad to hear about your raise!

Glucosamine

I also must add that I am having a lot of trouble with my hands at the moment. It would seem that the arthritis I keep being threatened with due the fact I am double jointed (a lot less exciting then it sounds) may have arrived.

Have you ever tried glucosamine? It's an over the counter supplement (or at least it is in the U.S.). Supposed to help build up the cartilage and keep your joints more mobile. I was hit with an arthritic condition in my early 30s. Went in remission twice and I'm currently in remission but my fingers and knees, etc. still tend to get stiff and painful in the winter months. I'm trying glucosamine for the first time this year and it's helped tremendously. They say to give it a good two months to work into your system but I took 500mg three times a day for the first month and was feeling better. Have backed the dosage down to 500mg twice a day now and feeling a lot less stiff. It's not a cure and there are still some days where it doesn't completely help and I'm still twinging but it's helped lessen the discomfort and the joints are lot less stiff. You can read about it here:

http://www.arthritis-glucosamine.net/index.php

I usually buy a bottle of the 500mg tablets that also has 400mg of chondroitin (which is supposed to be good for energy). I'm sure it doesn't work for everyone, but given how well it's worked for me, I would encourage giving it a try for a month or two and see if it helps.
