Well for anyone who is interested in Dr Who but mainly for
bigtitch 'cos she is such a Dr Who whore at the moment.
Darth Rich, who has also become a complete Dr Who whore since he attended the Comics Con with me and
bigtitch, sent me the following info about the next series this morning:
"Apparently, not only is Elisabeth Sladen back as Sarah Jane Smith, but John Leeson is also back as K9. Anthony Head is in the same episode, and it's strongly rumoured that he's playing, (drum roll please) The Master.
Now I ask you, will this not be either the coolest thing ever, or the
biggest pile of old mouldy tangerines you ever did see. Still, they got it
right for series one, so they can probably do it again..."
So fingers crossed all that it all turns out as fabulous as the last series and not a heap of decaying citrus fruit!
Darth Rich also pointed me at this interview with John Barrowman. Oh Mr Barrowman, you really should have a virtual shrine erected to you! It makes me so fabulously happy to see someone so centered about his sexuality and who 'gets' the importance of being a role model.
When
bigtitch and I met John at the Comics Con he was a huge and delightful surprise. The man is drop dead edible to look at and exudes enthusiasm and love for what he does. I was nearly ded from squee after the meeting. Darth Rich commented that
bigtitch and I were generating so much electricity with our *squee* that we could have provided a power source for a small developing country. He was right.
I have a lovely photo of John and I. He looks adorable, I looked very flushed and a bit glazed. So your not seeing it *grins*
Finally Darth Rich also relates that according to the latest news about the DVDs, the following commentaries have been recorded for the DVD boxed set:
* Rose - Exec producers Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner, producer
Phil Collinson
* The End of the World - Collinson, Will Cohen (visual effects)
* The Unquiet Dead - Mark Gatiss (writer), Euros Lyn (director), Simon
Callow (Charles Dickens)
* Aliens of London - Gardner, Cohen, David Verrey (Joseph Green)
* World War Three - Collinson, Helen Raynor (script editor), Annette
Badland (Margaret Blaine)
* Dalek - Rob Shearman (writer), Dave Houghton (VFX producer), Nicholas Briggs (Dalek voices), Bruno Langley (Adam)
* The Long Game - Langley, Brian Grant (director), Christine Adams
(Cathica) * Father's Day - Paul Cornell (writer), Billie Piper (Rose), Shaun Dingwall (Pete), Collinson
* The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances - Steven Moffat (writer), John
Barrowman (Jack), Houghton
* Boom Town - Collinson, Barrowman, Badland
* Bad Wolf - Davies, Gardner, Collinson
* The Parting of the Ways - Barrowman, Gardner, Piper
So, John is commenting on four of his five episodes. Yay! I'm just hoping that the out-take he told us about at the Comics Con is in there. Apparently they did several takes of the kiss scene in 'The Parting of Ways'. In one take John simply gave Rose a thumbs up and then turned and really snogged Christopher Eccleston (the Doctor). Ecclestone really went for it as well and they ended up rolling about on the floor.
I really wanna see that clip. A canon bi-sexual hero in a prime time sci fi series. It doesn't get much better then that!
