I saw A-ha play live last night at Wembley. That was a trip down nostalgia highway. Last time I saw them play live I was 13.

Morten Harket clearly has a picture hidden somewhere. The man is still ridiculously pretty and has a remarkably lovely voice. After listening to the lyrics of some of their songs I am now, unsurprised that I then went on to become a goth. For a teeny pop band, their songs are remarkably full of existential angst! Wembley sucks as a venue though.

Am still ill but back at work. According to the doctor I am going to kill myself very shortly. On that cheerful note, I have officially given up smoking and my various other unhealthy practices, in favour of having some form of life which does not involve sounding like Darth Vader and feeling like ectoplasm.

Yes, I know I've said this before but I do, actually, feel positive about doing this now. Am fed up with being ill all the time.

Am woefully behind on everything. Fandom is somewhat taking a back seat while I attempt to deal with RL.

My god, A-ha? Isn't that like admitting you like Bros?

Good for you on the smoking front. We want to keep you around!

The reviews I've seen of the A-Ha gigs in the press have all been amazingly good. Most of them seem to berate the fact that nobody seems to want to listen to their recent output, which is supposed to be rather good. Haven't heard it tho, so can't really comment!

All the best with the various givings up... I seem to have a persistent chest infection since I moved into a house full of smokers :/ Mind you the air isn't exactly what I'd call "quality" round here!

How can it not be quality when you get lots of lovely particulate carbon and aromatic molecules in it? Next thing, you'll be complaining about London water!

Yes, but I'd never touch the stuff. <wcfields>Fish fuck in it</wcfields>

there are FISH in London? I don't think the fish I've seen here are up to anything so energetic as fucking....

An aussie friend of mine is going around and seeing all the A-Ha concerts.

She got all excited because one of them shook her hand, and she got a photo with her.

I was kindave going 'cool' fangirl glee, so very cool.

Yayy for the trip down amnesia lane!

And I hope you're feeling better soon. Good luck on the healthy-lifestyle bit. One of these days I'm going to have to start something like that as well.

A-ha! Yay! I know nothing of them but that video for "Take on Me", but that was adorable. :-)

And the quitting smoking - YAY!!!!! Keep it up 'til I meet you and you'll get sex.

A-ha! That's awesome -- I've loved them since the '80s. :D

And congrats on giving up smoking -- I know it's tough as hell, but if it helps you keep from getting sick so often, it'll be more than worth it!

OMG, A-ha. There's a trip in the way-back machine. That brings back memories of much dancing and drinking and big hair. No, I mean really big hair. On purpose. I loved the 80's!

And go you on the quitting smoking and getting healthy. It sucks when we can't treat our bodies with the disregard we did in our 20's, doesn't it? But I know you can do it. Whenever you want a cigarette, read porn instead. *distracts you with boy kissing icon*

A-ha! Wow! Flashbacks! They actually did some good stuff - I still like some of it, so now I wish I could have gone XD

And good for you on the non-illness-seeking front. I'm all for doing things that are bad for you, but not to the point where it makes you miserable :-(
