My cat Flynn has just had to have six teeth out. Vet just rang. They are waiting for him to wake up.

I feel obscurely guilty and horrible.

No need to feel guilty...he'll feel much better afterwards...believe me, I'm a vet and I have had to extract almost all teeth from a couple of cats...and all these felt immensely better as soon as the teeth were out and the cats were awake...most of those had trouble eating before and after the extractions they just devoured food...makes you wonder how bad the pain must have been BEFORE extractions...
