As one of those lurkers people keep referring to in this matter,...;-)
I'll have to say I understand all sides of this argument, even J's. Not that I agree with her in any way.
I too think she's annoying.
I don't agree with her opinions, the way she expresses them, or the way she keeps ignoring all rational arguments and relevant evidence against her purported opinion. Again and again.
But... Tritorella makes a point; She's no worse than many others, just more persistent. Understandable and enjoyable as Em's outburst was, Sonja was perfectly justified with her slight slapdown.
I also agree with Tritorella on the point that it's not going to do you ( any of you ) any good to attack her on a personal level. There are many people on these lists who aren't on any of the others,so the references to her past posts on different lists aren't going to make any sense. They only come through as unnecessary, uncalled-for sarcasm.
The way to handle this,IMHO, is to ignore her to death. I've noticed that it's mostly well known names that enter in long arguments with her. The random posters don't bother beyond a couple of replies. So.... DON'T REPLY!
This Tic-Tac-Toe thing on ROG-L is a good example. There is in fact a guaranteed way to win in tic-tac-toe, if you're the one starting, no cheating involved, but that minor fact is not going to make any difference to this conversation. She didn't start this thread to discuss that (totally faulty) Barnes & Nobles book she started to talk about. She wants to talk about Methos cheating. No news there. The utterly unnecessary appeal to a questionable authority is just typical of her.
I admired the nonsense replies, but I thought she'd nevertheless reply. And she did.
She responded quite seriously.
Ignore her!
Hopefully she'll go away.
Stasha,
Who,as a rule tries to avoid posting when drunk, 'cause she has no internal censorship when soused.
The problem that I have't learned is that I'f LIKE to have a disussion like this with someone, but she's the only one offering anything like it. For now.
I'm done replying to her, and am moing it to my LJ instead.
You could always try making less sense. Or if that doesn't work either, end every other post by indirectly insulting most of the list members. I bet that'd get you replied to.
This is going to be my new response to everything that I think sucks. Beware the fatal signal of "I like gum". It's like hearing the gong and knowing that your act sucked.

The fancy wording doesn't really hide that.
For an interesting debate you need to start an interesting conversation.( and ignore the troll when she shows up)

Well I'm very new to HL...
But I love your comments and anytime you wanna have a Methos discussion I'm there. Just give me some warning given the time zone difference :)

Hey Stasha!
Sonia was entirely justified in her smack down. No arguments there :)
Infact I knew it would happen and was braced for far worse consequences.
You are right that ignoring the woman is the sensible option. I am afraid I have a very bad temper at times however. My bad.
I don't regret anything I said though :)
And your ight about not drinking and posting. Definitely not the best idea in the world but it does lead to some interesting discussions :)
